No doubt the argument collection and disposal of so-called WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is attracting considerable interest, partly because, as I have already noted in previous posts , the main actors in this whole affair it is the manufacturing companies, forced by DL July 25, 2005 and subsequent extensions to dispose of his own pocket (so to speak) the material product of competence. So all of us, from January 1, 2008 we are obliged to pay an eco-contribution on WEEE electrical and electronic products we buy. Refrigerators, telvisori, washing machines, PCs, light pollution, lighting, etc.. should be appropriately collected and subsequently disposed of or recycled in specialized companies, all run by consortia of companies and type Ecolamp Ecolight.
The end user will have to bring the material disposed of at the collection centers: ecological islands and retailers.
There are some things I want to emphasize: first one, December 21, 2007 was approved by the Council of Ministers approved the Decree Milleproroghe, 248/2007, containing the proposed amendment by Federdistirbuzione that on WEEE (Waste from equipment electrical and electronic equipment), suspend the obligation of commercial distribution to withdraw the product from factory to consumer when purchasing a new product.
That requirement is suspended until it is approved a decree that will simplify management of withdrawal and less costly storage of WEEE at retail outlets or stores.
And here I feel have to laugh, because the end user will have to bring equity to the material, perhaps cumbersome, to collection points.
Another thing on which to reflect is the collection of light source pollutants (eg energy saving light bulbs) at home (except that installers or municipal): where to be thrown away? you must bring them to recycle or ecological island? Apparently so, yes ... it is my opinion however that the collection of this material must be locally managed in such outlets with special containers such as batteries, this because, especially in large towns, the end user hardly perhaps laziness, perhaps for convenience, will visit the islands of ecological expertise to throw a light bulb, taking into account that, at least in Milan, access to the AMS is only allowed to recycle truck, that is if I walk not I do not even enter.
I did not find very detailed information to date on where to take the material to be disposed of, we always talk in a more or less generic island ecological or pitch .: roles of consortia is to intercept both the waste equipment from households and those of professional backgrounds, with the "Ecological pitches" surveyed by the Coordinating Center via the 'ANCI.
We must say that if Notzie is often not comprehensive due to its novelty inherent in this management system, and surely it will eventually be able to have more news.
I report about a conference information regarding WEEE organized by Ecolamp and Chamber of Commerce of Milan : Friday, February 1, 2008 - 9.30 - 13.30. The conference will be held at the Chamber of Commerce of Milan - Palazzo Turati - Via Meravigli 9 / B - Conference Room.
