This term, for once, not at all harmful but is associated with the desire to highlight the poor quality of lighting systems that characterize some urban areas, often with high cultural and symbolic of our city. Made a sort of protest, however, having fun and having fun, in order to make us all aware of how increasingly important is the issue of lighting the city, be it functional or purely scenic.
It's easy to find, in fact, as good lighting will help to make cities more livable, safe and attractive too. Often, however, covering the districts that compose it, or simply moving the squares and streets adjacent, one realizes that the various systems are designed as isolated events without an overall vision, as it is easy to come across monuments "Left in the dark" or be faced with too lit facades of buildings.
It is therefore a need for more control over equipment and better planning (in some cases completely absent). This, in brief, is the thought of " Guerrilla Lighting "and these are the points of the manifesto of this movement:
not all buildings require dedicated lighting;
every city must have its own Plan of Light;
architectural lighting is not a competition where whoever wins gets higher levels of illumination;
must always be maintained high levels of quality: in design and product, including requirements on minimum requirements;
more attention in terms of energy savings.
"Guerrilla Lighting", using limited resources, has the objective of raising public awareness on these issues, producing ephemeral and magical episodes where the protagonist is the light.
Little sore at the end: as the English title suggests, these initiatives are taking place mainly in the Anglo-Saxon countries, where the figure of ligthing designers has long been established. It would be nice, too long, it can be rewritten in Italian.
Well what about interesting initiative is not it? ...
What do you think?
