ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN, product

eggs crate lamp Then you're ready for these brief Easter break? You have already boiled eggs or decorated? Well actually in Italy the practice of decorating eggs is not much heard, but certainly hard-boiled eggs on Easter Monday is a classic. What to do then in cardboard containers which are commonly used as packaging for eggs, maybe this year instead of throwing them in the garbage can reused in an intelligent manner to achieve a fine product DIY (Do It Yourself) design, maybe a nice chandelier biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

This idea that inspired the Peruvian designer Federico Otero in making Eggs Crate Lamp, present among the 50 finalists in the competition of ideas Spring Green Contest organized by the famous site dedicated to eco-design Inhabitat. Were used 30 contentitori cardboard eggs stuck together and bent around a light bulb to achieve a simple but typical speaker.

The designer, Federico Otero native of Lima, is engaged in the design world for nearly a decade, he worked in the United States, in Italy (in Milan where he followed the master of Interactive Design at Domus Academy) and in Switzerland, where recently edited the design for a collection of watches Tag Heuer.

Good eco-Easter to you all. A special greeting to people these days have experienced a terrible time because of the disaster that struck the Abruzzi.
