In the end yesterday I pocketed the award ceremony, the works of the first edition of the Festival of Lights in Milan. I'd completely forgotten had it not been for the guys I interviewed at the awards ceremony of the contest LED (Light Exhibition Design), Ah yes because among the works on display during the Christmas period, and then for the Festival of Lights, there were also other, students, professionals and superstars who participated in the contest known that within a few days will be formalized in the new look 2010.
Indeed, until the last (and this is certainly guilty of my stupidity) I did not understand the distinction between the Festival and the LED, which in fact, for those who still had not understood, despite the logo of the most famed Competition is always in plain view, are two distinct events: the Festival is actually a container of works and installations including those winners Ligh Exhibition.
So last night, closing the games at the Royal Palace with the formalization of the winners named, by vote online or on paper, the sovereign people (a little 'as the remote voting Sanremo say). Representatives of the papers presented were more or less all there among them, a little 'excited, even my "favorites" Iacobino, Mazza, Osnago with their church and the duo Fopponino Naddeo-Brusemini, girls clocks Piazza Cadorna, remember the interviews of July?
The room was full of people (more or less important) to peek at all the panels (I seemed to be back in the days of the university during the design reviews) to everyone, but everyone exposed workers. Well to be honest not all, because to my astonishment there was just the work of the girls watch. Sure, the surprise will be great for the family "Electric Time" sponsor of the installation and that of course yesterday was present at the gala evening. Has been eliminated to give more space to other works in the festival circuit in reality they were not even included? Probably because an entire room was dedicated to the majestic Christmas tree, bright, rotating, installed in front of the Castello Sforzesco. Maybe, but I just in the 'list of works presented on the site of the Festival can not find!
But let's get to the devil so who won this first edition of the Festival of Lights in Milan? Holy Light with almost a thousand points, or the installation of the Duomo di Milano & compiled by Castagna Ravelli in collaboration with the Venerable Fabbrica del Duomo.
Silver Medal for "The Light Orchestra Daniel Simonini Raiser da Silva Ramos, Lorenzo Marini, Fernando Gonzalez Sandino with 875 points and finally bronze medal Light of Origami Antonella Cheche, Valentina Mammoli with 576 points.
Only a 20th place for the trio of San Francesco al Fopponino and an excellent 11th place in Milan for the clock ticks even though, given that mathematics is not an opinion, it would have been a 10th place, but go understand what strange evaluation algorithms have been applied ....
Below the complete list of works and their score:
and to finish, or better to end a beautiful homage to the unfortunate girl watches, with a nice slideshow of pictures made by me during the festival period.
the next one! ![]()

Hello James,
You are probably right for the ranking of the winning projects led. In fact, as rightly you point out the project "Milan is the clock ticking, and that 'your time?" And' coupling 10 (tenth) and 11 (eleventh) as erroneously stated in the attached pdf file that we will replace today.
As for your other two comments, unfortunately I have to rectify.
The shaft of light 'initiative is completely separate from LEDs - International Festival of Light, and' was conducted by the City Council in the same period and who shared with us the spaces of the Royal Palace for the event.
So the organization "arteventi" who took care of the tree of light, (at its expense) has organized the space, the construction and the material of the room dedicated to his project.
As for us, or LEDs - International Festival of Light, alas' resources are currently very small, as the City Administration has not approved the new budget and we are not able to engage sponsors for the initiative.
So with the little funds available we were able to make plaques for the winners, the video works and print only those few panels that you see, who could not contain all works.
We have therefore reluctantly had to make a choice based purely on the spaces available to us and were therefore privileged the best shots and not the works.
Oraelettrica has not indicated to us any problem about this.
Kelly and Martha know how much we appreciated their work immediately.
Finally I wanted to say that is not 'entirely true what you say on the two distinct events and LED Festival.
Since the beginning (as documented in the site http://www.comune.milano.it/led) there is a project called LED - Light Design Exhibiton, structured in three stages a contest, an exhibition and a show (which then we preferred to call the festival). For us and 'one. The festival includes both the winning projects is all the other projects that the administration decides, in its sole discretion to make, produce and promote. Indeed were made two votes and two separate awards for the COMPETITION and for this Festival.
I apologize to all who see you as a bit 'pedantic, but we were keen to point out particularly to you and your users, what was said, because' we know how much attention Luxemozione has followed our project and we do not want to disappoint now at the end of first edition and ready to launch the second.
Thank you for your cooperation and see you soon.
The organization LED.

Thanks for coming into the discussion, I'm glad, because it is ALWAYS important to give space to all points of view.
I hope in your other interventions in the future.
See you soon then
James
